Fighting for Our Democratic Values in Santa Maria

Gloria Soto is Running for Reelection to Santa Maria City Council, District 3

As a proud Democrat, I believe our city government should reflect our values: fairness, opportunity, and dignity for every resident. I’m running for reelection to keep fighting for affordable housing, for our youth and children, and for the working families who make Santa Maria run. Join our campaign as we keep building a city that works for everyone — not just the few

The Issues

Affordable Housing
Every family in Santa Maria deserves a safe, stable, affordable place to call home. I’ll keep fighting for policies that protect renters, expand affordable housing, and stop working families from being priced out of the community they helped build.
Youth & Families
Our children and youth are Santa Maria’s future, and they deserve a City Council that invests in them. I’m committed to expanding access to childcare, early education, and youth development programs so every family has the support it needs to thrive.
Small Business Vitality
Working families are the backbone of Santa Maria. I’ll keep fighting for living wages, workers’ rights, and an economy that puts people over profits — because when working families thrive, our whole city thrives.

Why I’m Running for Reelection

I’m running for reelection because I believe in the power of local government to reflect our democratic values — fairness, inclusion, and government that truly serves its people. I want to keep channeling the kindness and compassion of everyday Santa Marians into City Hall, and keep fighting for the housing affordability, youth investment, and working-family priorities that brought me to this seat in the first place.

I believe city government should ask, listen, learn, and then lead — and that democracy works best when everyone has a voice in it. I’m committed to defending that principle in Santa Maria, and to keep advocating for affordable housing, our youth and families, and working people who deserve a City Hall that fights for them.
